The cradle of Touriga-Nacional
Dão is one of the oldest wine regions in Portugal, located in the centre-north of the country, just below the Douro, which carries a reputation for producing some of the best Portuguese reds.
Dão is also known as the birthplace of Touriga Nacional. In fact, among the reds, Touriga Nacional has shown itself to be the most emblematic grape variety in Portugal, presenting great qualities for winemaking and acting as a kind of spokesman for the country's wine industry.
